iPad is missing key features

Myself, like the rest of the tech enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the official Apple announcement of the officially named iPad, but I must admit that it seems to be missing some pretty key features that would seem a no-brainer for a multimedia device.
First and foremost I’m shocked by the lack of a forward facing camera which makes video calls impossible without an add-on device. Although the new iPad does a nifty job organizing photos and making them look absolutely beautiful on it’s 9.7″ display, a camera in today’s devices is a requirement as far as I’m concerned.
Next on the gripe list was the omission of a standard or even micro usb port. Standardization is key; now more than ever, and not being able to connect our growing multimedia devices and gadgets is frustrating; but have no fear, Apple will no doubt have many expensive and required add on devices to satisfy those “niches”.
Lastly and the most minor is the lack of a multi-card reader, which could be easily satisfied with a usb port if it had one.
I don’t consider myself an Apple fanboy but I do like their stylized slant on hardware, and admittedly will be purchasing an iPad to quench my tech thirst, but I can easily see how they left room for improvement. Regardless of the few features the iPad is missing it still is a remarkable device and should make the net a more comfortable experience in the home.

Do you truly believe that is true? You did an excellent job stating your point, but I think you need to put a little more thought in this debate and maybe post a reply to the other side of this story.
